Josh has focused his practice on private funds and their managers for over 20 years. He regularly forms open-ended and closed-ended structures in a wide range of asset classes. He also has experience with general corporate transactions and lending work. He is developing expertise and publishing in the field of artificial intelligence. Josh spends a portion of his time serving a small number of companies as an outsourced general counsel. Josh works primarily from the firm’s Miami office, and he is involved in local industry organizations, with leadership roles in the Miami Finance Forum and the Hedge Fund Association.
Before joining the Investment Law Group, Josh was the principal of FundsLawyer PLLC. He has also worked at large firms in New York and Miami, including Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP; Morgan, Lewis & Bockius; Baker & Hostetler; and Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod. He also served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance officer to a multi-billion dollar family of emerging and frontier markets hedge funds. Josh received his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law in 2000 and his Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University (State University of New York) in 1997. He is admitted to the State Bars of New York, Florida and New Jersey.
