Senator introduces bill requiring hedge fund advisors to SEC register

Senator Chuck Grassley, citing reports linking terrorists to hedge funds, introduced legislation on March 7 which would require hedge fund managers to register with the SEC. Senator Grassley believes having managers register with the SEC would allow investors a better understanding of the actual risks they are taking. The proposed legislation would require hedge fund managers to register if they have more than $50 million of assets under management and more than 14 clients.
